Pokimane, an internet personality known as a Twitch streamer and has almost 8.19 million followers, threatened to stop using Streamlabs if they didn't resolve the issue it was facing right now.
It all started when Streamlabs was accused of copying the website of Lightstream, a cloud-based live streaming app maker. At first, Lightstream tweeted screenshots of its website beside Streamlabs with the caption "Hey, can I copy your homework?"
Later on, the CEO of Lightstream, Stu Grubbs, retweeted the image saying, "The team at @streamlabs should be ashamed. Not satisfied enough to ride @OBSProject's hard work."
The issue quickly spread on the internet, and Streamlabs received a lot of backlash from different internet personalities, including Pokimane.
The OBS Studio also got into action after Grubb's tweet. According to OBS Studio, before Streamlabs OBS was launched, they asked if they could use OBS in its name. OBS Studio kindly asked them not to. Because they know that it will cause confusion to the customers and companies, but Streamlabs still used it anyway.
"We've tried to sort this out in private and they have been uncooperative at every turn." OBS Studio tweeted.
Streamlabs later responded to all the accusations in a tweet, saying they promised to remove "OBS" from the name of its live-streaming software. But even though Streamlabs already gave its statement about the issue, it still left a big mark on the company, and many people are still talking about the issue.
